LSWO Continuing Education Offerings for Professionals
Currently the LSWO has 4 types of continuing education programs which have been developed by the organization independently and in collaboration nationally..
Summits: The LSWO has had successful One Day Summits on Human Trafficking, Gangs and Youth Development, Child Welfare, Spirituality and Religion in SW Practice, and Careers in Social Work Practice. We will post more information about future Summits at the 2009 Conference.
Conferences: For the past 7 years, the LSWO has provided Annual Conferences for social work professionals. These successful conferences have included Faculty from Schools of Social Work whose research has made an impact on micro/mid/macro level social work practice. Also many other social workers from all over the United States have submitted proposals for workshops. Please join us at our annual conference March 25-27, 2009.
Workshops: The LSWO has collaborated with Schools of Social Work and Community nonprofit agencies to provide cultural competency education. In 1998, the LSWO Leadership developed the “La Familia’ Perspective which is a multimedia presentation. Schools which have hosted this workshop have been: Dominican University School of Social Work, New York University School of Social Work, University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, George Warren Brown School of Social Work, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Social Work..
Online Education: The LSWO will be developing Online Education for social workers in the future.:
